Hey there 👋 I’m your friendly neighborhood beginner blogger. And this time? I mean it!
This blog has been sitting in the background for a few years, mostly collecting digital dust and half-written drafts that never made it out alive. I’ve published posts in fits of inspiration, only to panic-delete them days later.
And isn’t that the quintessential beginner blogger move? You get excited, pour your heart out, then start questioning everything five minutes after hitting “publish.”
But something’s different this time. I’m committed to committing to the process. No matter how messy, imperfect, or wonderfully chaotic it might be.
Sure, we’re almost through the year (how?!), but the blog is officially in motion now. No more tiptoeing around perfection or waiting to “know enough” to start.
I’m not an expert (I’m figuring things out as I go) so what you’ll get here is the unfiltered, ever-evolving journey of someone genuinely trying to build something from scratch.
From SEO experiments and blogging consistency struggles to email marketing attempts and late-night content regrets, I’ll be sharing it all right here. The triumphs, the stumbles, the “what was I thinking” moments.
Because isn’t that what being a beginner is about? Starting anyway, even when you’re absolutely terrified.
What This Blog Is Actually About
This space is for readers, writers, business-curious creatives, and anyone who gets a little too emotionally attached to fictional characters and digital side projects.
You can expect a mix of the following:
- My latest obsessions.
- The messy, behind-the-scenes process of trying to stick to a blogging schedule.
- Honest takes on what it’s like learning how to be a beginner blogger in real time.
- Everything I’m learning about SEO and online business, whether it’s my successes or failures.
There will be rants. There will be nerd-outs. There may also be moments when I forget to back up my work and suffer the consequences. Again.
If you’re someone who loves stories that feel like home, or you’re just curious to see someone build an online creative life from zero, this is the place for you.
Bookish + Binge Goals
I’m giving myself some gentle structure this year. Because let’s face it: chaos needs boundaries if it’s going to be productive.
- Books: My very humble goal is to finish 6 books this year. Not 100. Not 52. Just 6. I really need to stop ghosting my TBR!
- Movies/TV: I want to watch (and write about) 12 movies or shows I either love or love to hate. Expect rants. Glorious, unapologetic rants.
- Thoughts & Reviews: These won’t be polished critiques. More like “here’s what I loved, what annoyed me, and why I cried about it at 2 a.m.”
What I’m Learning as a Beginner Blogger
Let’s talk about the actual learning curve. Because, oh, it’s so steep. But also kind of fun?
- SEO: I’m finally diving into what all those meta tags, alt texts, and keywords mean with Blue Array’s SEO Manager course and hoping some of it sticks.
- Blogging Consistently: Showing up even when my inner critic throws a tantrum.
- Email Marketing: I’ve started using Kit (formerly ConvertKit) to build a small but mighty newsletter list. My goal? Send emails that don’t sound like spam wearing a trench coat.

Why I’m Blogging Out Loud (And Why It Matters As A Beginner Blogger)
This blog is about showing up even when I don’t have all the answers!
I’m not here to hand out hot takes or expert tips – mostly because I don’t have any!
I’m here to document what it’s like to start something messy and meaningful from scratch. It’s a digital “look what I made!” moment. Sometimes it’s a mess. Sometimes it’s magic. Sometimes both at once.
If you’ve ever had a project you started and stopped (and maybe restarted… multiple times), or you’ve felt overwhelmed by all the things you’re “supposed to know” before launching anything … well, we’re pretty much the same person?
So… What Now?
If you’re into:
- Fictional characters who live rent-free in your head
- Watching someone figure things out in real time
- Behind-the-scenes chaos of creative projects in progress
…then stick around. It’s going to be an interesting ride.
I’m still a beginner blogger, but I’ve finally decided to act like one who wants to get better. So if you’ve made it this far, thank you. I’m glad you’re here.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got a bunch of blog posts to finish, an SEO course to continue, and a stack of unread books side-eyeing me from across the room.
